    RECRUITMENT FOR EVERYONE’S KPOP CEBU PARTICIPANTS TITLE: K-Culture Next Door : 2024 KOREA FESTIVAL CEBU Event Title : Everyone’s KPOP Cebu (K-pop Cover Dance Contest for EVERYONE) Overview Everyone’s KPOP Cebu is the first K-POP competition KCC is holding in Cebu City. This event aims to provide opportunities for K-POP lovers in Cebu region to gather, enjoy, and showcase their talents. Please review the following guidelines thoroughly and we look forward to your applications! * Missing requirement or late submission will result in disqualification. Schedule & Overview Eligibility for application 1. Participants are preferably 18 years old and above at the time of the competition. 2. Participants aged 17 years old and below are also allowed to join.    ⓐ The under-aged participants MUST provide a waiver that states they are allowed by their parents to join the competition and that the Korean Cultural     Center in the Philippines is absolved of all responsibility in case any unexpected incidents happen. 3. Participant(s) must be a resident and/or a citizen of the Philippines.     4. There are no restrictions on residency within the Philippines however, no provision for travel or accommodation support Guidelines 1. The group must be composed of the same (or less) number of members as the group they are covering. Participants must not have more members than the original group they’re covering. 2. The current member line-up should be followed regarding groups that have re-structured their member line-up 3. Dancers should  stick to only one group. Performing in two participating group is not allowed. 4. It must be one full song track within 5 minutes, remix versions of songs within a 5-minute limit. * If participants want to remix the songs, it should only be composed of one K-pop group they are covering. 5. The online preliminary judging will be conducted by external experts. Application Process 1. Complete the application form using the link below 2. Requirements : Completed Application Form , Copy of Valid ID (All members should submit valid ID, and it must include the birthdate), Link to Entry Video, High Resolution Creative Photo of the Group *After application submitted changing group member is not allowed unless the group can provide a valid reason, such as “medical condition, working/studying abroad, etc., 4. High resolution creative photos of contestant/group will be used on promotional materials. 5. Recorded video file of contest piece uploaded on YouTube.    ⓐ The submitted video must be the same song that the participant(s) will perform during the final competition.    ⓑ Minor changes to the song that will be performed at the competition can be made such as additional intro or putting in a dance break in the song.        However, total change of track for the competition is NOT ALLOWED. And the change should still meet the time limit.    ⓒ Video must be uploaded on YouTube with the following title: “2024 Everyone’s KPOP Cebu – NAME”    ⓓ Guidelines for the submitted recorded video:        - The video doesn’t have a time limit however, the song to be performed must be under five (5) minutes.        - Only performance video must be submitted.        - Video to be submitted must have high resolution with good lighting.        - The video must be taken with a front, center view. The whole routine of the choreography should be seen in the video.        - Cuts are allowed as long as the angle of the video is the same.        - The video must show a tight, full shot of the participants.        - The video must have good lighting, enough to see the faces of the participants.        - Video must NOT be recorded with different angles or special effects. Both parents of the participants must not have had Korean citizenship; however, if only one of the parents has acquired Korean nationality, the participant can still join. 4. Participants from any regions in the Philippines can join, but the travel fee to participate for finals in Davao City should be personal expenses. 5.    Submissions of SOLO performances are allowed, but contestants from GROUPS are not allowed to “Group hop” or join other teams when they are already a member of one group.   CONTEST GUIDELINES: Both singers and dancers can join in the competition. To provide clarity to the participants, please check the guidelines for vocal participants and dance participants. 1.Vocal Participants 2.1. Solo, duo, or group singers can participate. 2. The contestants can have fewer members than that of the original artist, but they cannot have more members than that of the original artist whose song they will perform. This competition will have two categories—the VOCAL CATEGORY and DANCE CATEGORY. The grand prize winners of these two categories will be the Philippines’ representative to the first round of semi-finals of the 2022 Changwon K-POP World Festival which will first be held online. If the Philippine representatives qualify for the grand finals in Korea, that’s the only time they will fly to Korea to join the live competition. KCC will not be able to provide assistance to the under-aged participant(s)' companion. 3.    Participant(s) must be a resident and a citizen of the Philippines. Both parents of the participants must not have had Korean citizenship; however, if only one of the parents has acquired Korean nationality, the participant can still join. 4.    Due to different COVID-19 policies and restrictions around the globe, the grand final round in Korea is still under discussion. Should it be decided that the finals will be held in Korea, the participants (upon qualification) should be eligible to travel to Korea on September 30, 2022. Nevertheless, chosen participants must be available for online finals should this be the decided platform for the finals. a)Participant(s) should have a valid passport at the time of travel to Korea. KCC will assist in the application of Korean VISA for the winner however, if the participant can’t visit Korea because of the grounds for disqualification of VISA application or due to personal reasons, the winner title and following privilege will go to the runner-up. 5.    Submissions of SOLO performances are allowed, but contestants from GROUPS are not allowed to “Group hop” or join other teams when they are already a member of one group. 6.     2019 PINOY KPOP STAR 가이드라인 신청서 및 가이드라인 안내 파일은 아래에서 다운받으실 수 있습니다. I.          OVERVIEW The 2019 Pinoy K-pop Star is the Philippine finals for the 2019 Changwon K-POP World Festival which will be held on September 30-October 13, 2019 (14 days and 13 nights) at Changwon, South Korea. This competition will have two categories—the VOCAL CATEGORY, which is basically a singing competition, and the PERFORMANCE CATEGORY, which is both a SINGING and DANCING competition with focus on the overall performance of the group rather than just the singing or dancing quality of the contestant. The grand prize winners of these two categories will be the Philippines’ representative to the first round of semi-finals of the 2019 Changwon K-POP World Festival which will first be held online. The group cannot just lip-sync to the original song.   Example of Instrumental w/ Backing vocals: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-pgWB_enMk                                               Example of actual performance at the KBS K-pop World Festival: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=caw5pIUBC5o *The group pre-recorded their own voices and used this to perform on stage.   d.      Application Requirements 1.      Completed application form (form can be downloaded from the KCC website: http://phil.korean-culture.org under the category: “EVENTS & CLASSES”) 2.      Copy of valid ID or passport of contestant(s). 3.      Recorded video file of contest piece uploaded on YouTube. a)      The submitted video must be the same song that the participant(s) will perform during the competition. b)      Minor changes to the song that will be performed at the competition can be made such as additional intro or putting in a dance break in the song. However, total change of track for the competition is NOT ALLOWED. c)      Video must be uploaded on YouTube with the following title, depending on the category you will join:            “2019 PINOY K-POP STAR – Vocal Category Entry – NAME”            “2019 PINOY K-POP STAR – Performance Category Entry – NAME” d)      Guidelines for the submitted recorded video: i.        The video doesn’t have a time limit however, the song to be performed must be under six (6) minutes. ii.      For VOCAL CATEGORY contestants, For the vocal category, only performance video must be submitted. (The video to be submitted must be raw and can clearly hear the contestants voice) iii.    For PERFORMANCE CATEGORY contestants, For the performance category, both performance video and AR video must be submitted. (AR Video: Video of the group actual song recording.) *Since you will perform by producing AR with your voice, need to be aware of lyrics at the final round. Need to check the knowledge of lyrics in advance iv.     The video must be taken with a front, center view. The whole routine of the choreography should be seen in the video. v.       Cuts are allowed as long as the angle of the video is the same. vi.     The video must show a tight, full shot of the participants. vii.   The video must have good lighting, enough to see the faces of the participants. viii. Video must NOT be recorded with different angles or special effects. Script: “Hello, we are _____. Come and see us perform in the Vocal/Performance Category of the 2019 Pinoy K-pop Star on July 27, 2019 at Samsung Hall in SM Aura. We will be performing ________. 2019 Changwon K-POP WORLD FESTIVAL FIGHTING! c.       Interview video based on a bust shot. (Performers should be centered in the video) Interview question : 1) Self Introduction (name, nationality, occupation, other self-introduction), 2) motivation to participate, 3) aspiration and determination for finals   e.      Application Procedure 1.      Upload video on YouTube. (Video must follow the recorded video guidelines mentioned above.) 2.      Send the application requirements to kccphevents@gmail.com with the SUBJECT: “[2019PKS] Vocal – NAME” or “[2019PKS] Perf – NAME (depending on the category you will join) 3.      Wait for the announcement of finalists on June 24, 2019 through KCC’s official website (http://phil.korean-culture.org) and official Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/KoreanCulturalCenterPH). Finalists will be notified via e-mail as well.          V.        CONTEST GUIDELINES   a.      Contest Rules 1.         Contestants must adhere to the eligibility requirements mentioned above, otherwise, the particular contestant who doesn’t follow the eligibility requirements will be subjected to disqualification. 2.         For VOCAL CATEGORY: The contestants must perform their contest piece LIVE. The contestants must use instrumental audio. Instrumental audio that include back-up vocals that give accompaniment to the song are allowed. 3.         For PERFORMANCE CATEGORY: The contestants must PRE-RECORD their song using instrumental with backing vocals and use this pre-recorded audio when they perform. In case any of the members cannot perform at the competition, the group must perform without that member. No substitute member can take the place of the member who cannot join. 5.         The music must be at least three (3) minutes but not more than six (6) minutes. Any excess in time will have 1 point deduction to the total score. 6.         Use of props will be allowed as long as it will not cause any delay in the program and any harm to the performance of other groups. Props such as oil, confetti, pyrotechnic gadgets, smoke generators or combustible material, broken glass, live animals, sharp objects and the like are prohibited. 7.         Attire may include accessories such hats, caps, gloves, scarves, jewelries, etc. Removing pieces of clothing during the performance is allowed provided that it is not offensive or out of character. 8.         A panel of judges will consist of five (5) persons chosen by the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines. 9.         Judges’ decision is FINAL and IRREVOCABLE.     b.      Criteria for Judging VOCAL CATEGORY CRITERIA PERCENTAGE Vocal Power  (Vocal quality, technique, and ability) 60% Expression, Pronunciation (How well the singer expresses the emotion of the song and how well he/she/they pronounce the Korean lyrics) 20% Stage Charisma (Costume, manner on the stage, how well he/she/they engage the audience) 20% TOTAL             100%   PERFORMANCE CATEGORY CRITERIA PERCENTAGE Choreography (Composition, Unity) (How well is the choreography of the dance of the members and how synchronized they are in dancing) 40% Technique (How well the group sings and dances at the same time) 30% Stage Charisma (Costume, manner on the stage, how well he/she/they engage the audience) 30% TOTAL 100%   VI.      PRIZES VOCAL CATEGORY RANK PRIZE GRAND PRIZE WINNER PHP 20,000     Cash Prize Trophy Gift Pack Will represent the Philippines in the 1st Round of Semi-Finals (Online) of the 2019 Changwon K-POP World Festival in South Korea.
