2021 Term 3 Guidelines for Online Korean Language Classes

Please read below updated guidelines for taking online Language classes at KCC.

Pre-Term Instructions

1. KCC’s Term 3 will run from September 27 to December 11 (11 weeks). The language classes are open to Philippine residents who are at least 13 years old.
2. Class schedules for Term 3 will be posted on the KCC Facebook page on Sep 17 (Friday) at 9am.
3. For new KCC students with Korean Language background, please take the online level test at https://tinyurl.com/KCCPHLevelTest. If you have not taken any formal lessons in Korean, it is encouraged that you start with the 1A course.
4. Old KCC students (2011-2018) who completed the old language curriculum must take the online level test at https://tinyurl.com/KCCPHLevelTest to know their level corresponding to the Sejong Hakdang curriculum. Certificates from the old classes will not be honored as valid pre-requisites anymore as KCC is now following the Sejong Hakdang curriculum.

Class Registration

1. All classes are free. KCC is not offering paid classes.
2. The registration for classes is only through signing up for a raffle slot. Students will be chosen at random using a third-party raffle website (www.commentpicker.com).
3. Sign-ups will be accepted only at the specified time and date. For Term 3, sign-ups will happen on Sep 20 (Monday) at 9am to 1pm only. The registration link will be posted on KCC’s Facebook page at exactly 9am and will close at exactly 1pm on Sep 20.
4. Please choose only one class and sign up once. Multiple entries will be automatically cancelled.
5. Posting of raffle results will be on Sep 22 (Wednesday) at 9am.
6. Students who are awarded slots will receive a confirmation email by Sep 22 (Wednesday), 1pm. To confirm their slot, students must submit a valid ID within 24 hours after receiving the confirmation email. The name on the ID must be the same as the one used to register during the raffle sign ups. Slots are not transferrable.
7. For students who will take 1A class for spouse visa purposes, you will need to submit additional requirements. Please refer to https://tinyurl.com/KCCPHSpouseVisa. Please do not send your requirements unless you are awarded a slot during the raffle.
8. Failure to submit a valid ID and other requirements will mean forfeiture of slot. The slot will then be given to the next person on the waitlist.
9. KCC will draw five (5) additional people per class who will be placed on waitlist.

Attending the Classes

1. All students are expected to have a good device (PC, laptops or mobile phones with working cameras & microphones are accepted) and stable internet connection that allows them to open their video during the class. Online classes at KCC are live and interactive and teachers always expect the students’ active participation without disruptions.
2. The first week of the term will be an evaluation period. Teachers will check if the students’ internet connection and device are stable enough to be able to attend the class seamlessly. Should there be instances when the student cannot attend the class due to poor internet connection, the slot will be cancelled and KCC will give it to the next person on waitlist.
3. KCC expects all students to have a 70% attendance in class. Students are only allowed to be absent for 7 times. If the student exceeds the allowed number of absences, they will be considered dropped from the class and no certification will be issued regardless of final exam results.
4. All students who will be awarded slots are expected to complete their classes dutifully. Dropping from the class will result to being placed on the blacklist.
