EVENT TITLE: 2022 PINOY K-POP STAR OVERVIEW: The Pinoy Kpop Star (PKS) is the annual Philippine finals leg of the K-POP World Festival in Changwon which will be held on September 2022. This competition will have two categories—the VOCAL CATEGORY and DANCE CATEGORY. The grand prize winners of these two categories will be the Philippines’ representative to the first round of semi-finals of the 2022 Changwon K-POP World Festival which will first be held online. If the Philippine representatives qualify for the grand finals in Korea, that’s the only time they will fly to Korea to join the live competition. KCC will not be able to provide assistance to the under-aged participant(s)' companion. 3.    Participant(s) must be a resident and a citizen of the Philippines. Both parents of the participants must not have had Korean citizenship; however, if only one of the parents has acquired Korean nationality, the participant can still join. 4.    Due to different COVID-19 policies and restrictions around the globe, the grand final round in Korea is still under discussion. □ OVERVIEW: KCC will be reviving Pinoy K-Pop Star through an online version of the contest. The title for this year’s Pinoy K-Pop Star is “Transcend” meaning “go beyond limits” as we are now embarking on a different era of the contest which goes beyond the usual on-ground event. This year, we will utilize the online platform as a way to also safeguard the safety of every participant and organizers. This year’s Pinoy K-Pop Star is only open for DANCE PERFORMANCES. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, 2021 K-Pop World Festival organizers decided to remove the vocal category for this year.  The contest is open for SOLO and GROUP performances (max 10 members). Video submission must be filmed with utmost care and observance of COVID-19 protocols.  Because the Vocal Category is not included this year, guidelines for the contest have been updated to accommodate Dance Performances. Applicants should submit 3 contest videos: (1) video of dance performance using any K-Pop songs from 2019 - 2021. It must be one full song track. No remixes allowed. Video must not exceed 6 minutes. (1) video of dance performance using one of the following BTS songs: BTS <BUTTER>, <DYNAMITE> and It must be one full song track. No remixes allowed. Video must not exceed 6 minutes. (1) 1-2 minutes video of self-introduction.  (Optional) Should you have other dance videos you have done in the past, you may also submit 1-2 YouTube links. The contestants MUST only dance the original choreography of chosen songs in the video. Doing own vocal renditions and choreography of the song is not allowed. 10 Finalists will be selected to proceed to the Philippines’ final round which will be announced online on July 14, 2021. The submitted videos of the 10 finalists performing to the given required songs (BTS) will be uploaded on KCC’s SNS pages for public voting.  An online live-streamed event will be held on the final announcement of winners. Top 10 finalists should be available on this day for filming via Zoom.  Judges and online votes will be combined to decide the final winners.
