TWO MULTI-AWARDED KOREAN OPERA SINGERS TO PERFORM AT THE AYALA MUSEUM
Two Multi-Awarded Korean Opera Singers to perform at the Ayala Museum
An evening of great singing and beautiful music awaits music lovers as UST Conservatory of Music and Ayala Museum present two (2) of Korea’s multi-awarded singers – Soprano Yun Kyoung Yi and baritone Daesan No in an evening of opera and songs on March 27, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. at the Ayala Museum, Makati Ave. cor. De la Rosa Ave., Makati City
Amidst so many outstanding opera and bel canto singers today, Yun Kyoung Yi and Daesan No never cease to captivate the attention of both music lovers and critics alike with their “impeccable musicality, unique vocal versatility and heartfelt interpretation.” Last heard in Manila as Violetta and Padre Germont, respectively, during the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ highly acclaimed production of Verdi’s opera masterpiece “La Traviata”, the concert promises a blissful night for opera lovers and music aficionados.
A second prize winner of the 37th Bellini International Vocal Competition in Italy, Yun Kyoung Yi has performed in Bulgaria, Cuba, Japan, US, Mexico, Italy, and South Korea, to name a few. More recently, she was invited to perform and to teach Opera Singing to the students of Il Sistema” in Venezuela. Likewise, baritone Daesan No, a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, has performed the role of Falstaff in Tanglewood under the baton of Seiji Ozawa, the lead role in Rigoletto and Leporello in Don Giovanni with the Lyric Opera of San Antonio, Scarpia in Puccini’s Tosca and Escamillo in Carmen with the New York City Opera and Opera Grand Rapids. He had performed with the BBC National Orchestra at the Barbican Hall in London, the Montreal Symphony, and the Mexico Symphony Orchestra at the Palacio de Bellas Artes.
