'Global Harmony Festival' in Batangas

From August 5th to August 10th, the 'Global Harmony Festival' was held in Batangas City. The event was hosted jointly by POSCO E&C and KOFICE and sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, the Korean Culture Center in the Philippines and the POSCO 1% Sharing Foundation.
From August 5 to 8, POSCO E&C and KOFICE held a variety of Korean arts and culture learning programs spanning the areas of K-pop dance, choral singing, Taekwondo, drones, Sogochum(small drums dance), traditional culture, and creative science for 235 students at Simlong Elementary School located in the city of Batangas, Philippines. On the 9th, POSCO E&C held the launching ceremony for "Creative Room", an integrated cultural experience space where visiting students can engage in a variety of activities including reading, playing and enjoying audiovisual materials, at Simlong Elementary School, with the attendance of many of the area's high-ranking officials including school commissioners from the local education office.
On the 10th, in celebration of the 70th year of diplomatic ties between the Philippines and South Korea, 'Global Harmony Festival' took place as a cultural exchange festival at Batangas City Convention Center with the attendance of over 1,000 local residents and Batangas City Cultural Business Division vice-chairman Eduardo Borbon, ending the iteration of the South Korea- Philippines cultural exchange event on a high note.
At the festival on the day, the 31 members from POSCO E&C's collegiate volunteer group Happy Builders and 13 local volunteers together performed on the stage choral music as well as K-pop songs and dances which are currently very popular across the globe. In addition, the Happy Builders also performed Haegeum(a Korean traditional musical instrument), Korean classical dances, and NANTA show and received fervent response from the locals.
