<The KOREAN WAR MEMORIAL PEACE CONCERT> Free Tickets! The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, The Patriotic Cultural Association of Korea, and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts of the Philippines will organize the ‘The Korean War Memorial Peace Concert’ on June 25, 7 PM at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo Theater in Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). The peace concert will feature the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO) and the Seocho Philharmoniker of Korea and is expected to promote the culture and art exchange between the two countries. Before the concert, the PPO will perform the national anthems of the two countries with the Seocho Philharmoniker and pay a silent tribute to the Filipino and Korean veterans of the Korean War. The two philharmonic orchestras will perform a wide repertory including ‘Bimok’ the Korean folk song to commemorate Korean War Veterans and the Korean ‘Boating song,’ ‘Arirang Fantasy’ and Haydn ‘Trumpet Concerto (3rd Movement)’. Last year during the bilateral meeting of the Philippines and Korea, the two heads of state agreed to designate 2019 as the "Year of mutual exchange" to celebrate the 70th anniversary of PH and Korea diplomatic ties. Throughout the year, Korea and the Philippines are expected to further strengthen their relations particularly in the areas of people-to-people exchange through a series of events and programs in both countries. PHIL-KOR 70th Anniversary Diplomatic Relations Friendship Parade The Phil-Kor 70th Anniversary Diplomatic Relations Friendship Parade was organized by The Korean Sports Council of the Philippines(KSC Phil) and The United Korean Community Association in the Philippines(UKCA) last June 9, 2019, at Quirino Grand Stand, Manila City. The event was sponsored by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, the Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, the Metropolitan City of Manila, the Philippines Sports Commission(PSC). Thousands of people from both countries living in the Philippines marched together. After the Parade, cultural exchange programs were also held at Quirino Grand Stand such as Taekwondo demonstration of the Kukkiwon Demonstration Team of Korea, K-pop performances, Philippine traditional dance, and so on. PRESS RELEASE Six Cultural Events on June to celebrate the 70th year of the PH-ROK bilateral relations A series of Korea culture events are about to happen in different cities of Metro Manila this coming June 2019 as the Philippines and Korea celebrate its 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties. K Street Festival Kicking off the month of June is the first-ever ‘K Street Festival’ happening from May 31 to June 1 at C1 Park, Bonifacio High Street, Taguig. A grand showcase of Korea’s popular activities and trends, the two-day free festival has seven staging areas themed to target the different sectors of Korea’s popular presence in the country such as art, beauty products, games, tourism, K-pop, dramas, and food. It carries out the mission to provide the community with the best activities to learn the traits and culture of Korea. 2019 Korea-Philippines Job Fair for Korean and Filipino EPS Returnee Worker The Embassy of Korea in the Philippines will hold the 2019 Korea-Philippines Job Fair for Korean and Filipino EPS Returnee Worker on June 1, 2019, Saturday at Dusit Thani Hotel, Makati. Around 40 local and Korean companies such as Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), Asurion Customer Solution Philippines (BPO), Widus Hotel, Amore Pacific and other companies will participate in the job fair. Spot interviews and online screen interviews will be held at the event. The Philippine Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will also be present to assist the returning Filipino EPS Workers from Korea for employment in the Philippines. On May 31, 2019, 5 PM, the children's choir will perform at the Museo ng Muntinlupa Theater with Woodrose Chorale of PAREF Woodrose School for Girls. A fund-raising concert organized by the Goyang Civic Children’s Choir from Korea and the Quezon City Performing Arts Development Foundation, Inc (QCPADFI, Executive Director Ms. Eya Uy) is slated to happen on June 1, 2019, at 6 pm at School of Statistics Auditorium, UP. Diliman, Quezon City. The concert also features Holy Spirit Girls and another Children’s Choir affiliated to the foundation. Titled ‘Together in Music,’ the concert features the Goyang Civic Children’s Choir from Korea with the special participation of QC Performing Arts Dance Scholars, QCPA Filipino Instruments Scholars, and QCPA Vocal Ensemble. Also, the Goyang Civic Children’s Choir and the Children’s Choir of QCPADFI will be present on June 2, at 5 pm at the Ayala Mall situated in Alabang with other children’s choir of Alabang. With the theme “Marching Together for the Next 70 Years,” the parade will start at 6 AM and will run 3.8 kilometers starting from the Quirino Grand Stand and passing by Roxas Boulevard, Rajah Sulayman Park, and back to the Grand Stand. After the parade, cultural exchange programs prepared by both countries such as Taekwondo demonstration of the Kukkiwon Demonstration Team of Korea, and Korean traditional musical performance (Pung-mul Nori), Philippine traditional dance and K-pop performances are prepared for the parade participants. 2019 Global Taste of Korea Cooking Competition Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines, in partnership with Lyceum of the Philippines University (LPU) Culinary Institute will hold its annual Korean cooking competition ‘2019 Global Taste of Korea’ on June 15, 2019, at LPU Culinary Institute. For this year, the contest is divided into two categories to celebrate the 70th year of the Philippines-Korea bilateral relations. For the Fusion battle, participants should create a dish using both Korean and Filipino flavors. The dish should use the Korean flavor as its main base and combine it with a Filipino Flavor.
