<Imagine Tondo!> Exhibition
<Imagine Tondo!>
October 4 – November 4, 2024
<2024 Arts and Culture Education ODA in the Philippines>, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Republic of Korea and organized by the Korea Arts & Culture Education Service (KACES), was conducted in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). It provided training and workshop programs for teachers, artists, and students in Tondo, Manila.
This year, the program was conducted in Tondo public schools and care centers and reached a total of 252 participants. The workshops blended science, technology, and arts, based on concepts from modern physics (such as quantum physics, space-time, and the properties of light), and focused on creating upcycled artworks that reflect local environmental issues.
This exhibition showcases the outcomes of the collaboration between the rich cultural and artistic resources of the Philippines and arts and culture education of Korea. Visitors will experience the passion for arts and culture education demonstrated by Filipino teachers and artists, along with the creativity of students who have rediscovered themselves and their communities, creating new meanings beyond their everyday routines.
Participating institutions: Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School, Lakan Dula High School, Gen. Gregorio Del Pilar Elementary School, AHA! Learning Center, Eksena PH, Titik Poetry, Ang Pinoy Storytellers
