“Arirang” is one of the most famous Korean folk songs, which is being sung for almost 600 years 

now. The song embodies the unique energy of the Korean people. It has been included twice on 

the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list with South Korea submitting the song for inclusion 

on the UNESCO list in 2012. While North Korea also successfully submitted the song for inclusion in 2014.
